Lewandowski scores 5 goals in less than 9 minutes

Pole striker Robert Lewandowski has stunned the world once again with a handful of goals in a single match.

Lewandowski-Bayern Munchen 5 goals

In 2013, when playing for Borussia Dortmund, Lewandowski scored 4 goals against Real Madrid during a UEFA Champions League match; however such stunt has been surpassed given tonight’s events at Allianz Arena.

Die Roten where trailing 1-0 to Wolfsburg in a Bundesliga match. After halftime the Spaniard coach Pep Guardiola brought on Lewandowski to strengthen the attack line and it paid off! The Pole footballer scored 5 times in less than 9 minutes, securing a 5-1 win for Fußball-Club Bayern München e.V. It took him only 6 minutes to “warm up” on the pitch before he register his first goal.

According to UEFA these are some of the accolades to be noted:

  • Fastest hat-trick in Bundesliga history (3 minutes 22 seconds).
  • It is the first time in 24 years that somebody scores 5 goals in a Bundesliga match.
  • First substitute in Bundesliga history to score 5 goals.

I knew I would get on in the match and just try to score. I am very pleased, this was crazy. I just shot and did not think much about what was happening. Five goals – that’s an incredible evening. After the third and fourth goal I quickly looked at the video screen and though: “Oh!” Pep Guardiola did not have to say anything, I knew what I had to do. I don’t think I have ever scored five before. Certainly not in 45 minutes. If things are working for you, you have to try to go on and score more goals. I am staying at home tonight, chilling. We have important games in front of us and have to stay focused: Robert Lewandowski.

Bayern München will receive Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday, September 29th, 2015 in the matchday 2 of the group stage in UEFA Champions League™. Hopefully goalkeeper Eduardo will be in good shape.

September 22nd, 2015.
