The Belgian footballer might be ineligible to play for Chelsea for the rest of 2015 as he is facing knee surgery due to injury.
Portuguese manager José Mourinho confirmed Thibaut Courtois is seriously injured and according to the Daily Mail he’ll be sidelined for at least two months.
Courtois was injured in a training session with the goalkeepers and I cannot tell you much, but I can tell you that he needs surgery in his right knee… As a consequence of that he will be out for quite a long time. I cannot be at this moment more specific about the injury or the time he will be out. It is a big blow, it is not easy to have the best goalkeeper in the world injured: José Mourinho.
ESPNFC revealed Courtois will be unavailable for selection for up to 12 weeks, which could mean he’ll be off the pitch for the rest of the year.
Chelsea let go this summer Czech goalkeeper Petr Čech who now plays for Arsenal, a fact that has led to trolling and criticism in the web as reported by Mirror. Asmir Begović will be in charge of the goal line while Courtois recovers.
The Blues are currently in the 13th position in Barclays Premier League™. They will visit Everton this Saturday.
