Czech goalkeeper, Petr Čech is joining Arsenal for the 2015 – 2016 season according to Daily Mail and Sky Sports.
The North London squad however has not made an official announcement so far. Pole and Columbian keepers, Szczęsny and Ospina remain in the team’s roster for the time being.
Čech is now 33 years old and has played for Chelsea F.C. since the 2004 – 2005 season, having won the FA Premier League title 4 times, although he only had 6 appearances in the last term.
Arsenal have completed the signing of Chelsea’s Petr Cech and the goalkeeper could face his former club as soon as August 2 in the Community Shield at Wembley.
Talks over an £11million deal have been ongoing since the season ended and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has finally made the 33-year-old his first signing of the summer. Daily Mail.
At this point it is unclear if Čech will be assigned to the first squad and will be considered for a starter role, or if he will be only a backup keeper as happened when seasoned star Jens Lehmann returned to Arsenal in 2011.
As an Arsenal fan I would love to watch Čech playing regularly for the Gooners in the next season of the Barclays Premier League.
