Noel Gallagher ill. First Mexico City show cancelled

Update: The first of 2 shows has been officially cancelled according to OCESA (the event organiser). The second show, scheduled for May 26th will go on as planned.

BritPop legend Noel Gallagher has reportedly taken ill during his North American tour. Last night his show in Mexico City had to be postponed, with no official notice by management. A source close to the artist has scarcely revealed to this blog Noel “is down with a classic case of food poisoning”.

The May 26th, show to be held also in Mexico City remains scheduled. (Latest update 22:47 UTC).

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds performed in Las Vegas and Los Angeles prior to their trip to Mexico City. The band is due to appear on the Riviera and Pabst theatres in Chicago and Milwaukee respectively, later this week.

Noel’s management has yet to make an official statement regarding the first show. Notorious Mexican organisers OCESA still need to clarify how and when the tickets for the cancelled show will be reimbursed to the thousands of disappointed ticket holders, although it has been mentioned compensation might begin on June 2nd, 2015.
