Leonard Simon Nimoy has died today at age 83, according to the BBC and other sources. The American actor took part in several films such as ‘A Woman Called Golda’ (starring Ingrid Bergman) and ‘Transformers Dark of the Moon’, but he is best known worldwide for his part in the Star Trek television and movie franchise: Spock.
Nimoy’s character is supposed to be from the fictional planet Vulcan, born from a vulcan father and a human mother. The character is famous for his wittiness and the science-related terms and technicalities he uses in his dialogues.
According to MSN, Nimoy died of end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (a collection of lung diseases including chronic bronchitis, emphysema and chronic obstructive airways disease).
