MSC Divina (originaly MSC Fantastica) is registered in Panama and was built in 2012. It has capacity for 3,502 passengers. The cruise ship stopped to search for the overboard passenger without success, according to CrusieLawNews.com.
Some Mexican media indicate the missing man is actually the son of a senior official with the local government in Chiapas, named Raciel López Salazar.
Twitstar Sopitas (who is on board the MSC Divina) commented:
Honestly, everyone thought it was just a joke, when suddenly he put his arms around his chest and jumped to the sea from which he never came out: Sopitas.
The same source established the passenger was seemingly drunk. Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the missing passenger, the circumstances surrounding the incident and the results of the search conducted.
MSC Divina carries over 2,000 jolly Mexicans and is heading for Recife, Brazil where Mexican national football team (El Tri) will face Croatia on Monday, June 23rd in the last match of the group stage in the FIFA World Cup™ 2014.
