In each defeat, a victory lies on
Mexican filmmaker and former radio announcer, Olallo Rubio is taking part in a new project in which he will depict the Mexican faith in a not-so-glorious football team. “Ilusión Nacional” (National Illusion).
Mexican national team will take part in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil this summer. “El Tri” earned its ticket to the group stage of the tournament in a play-off round against New Zealand, after having embarrassingly failed to proceed in the qualifying rounds of its confederation (CONCACAF).
The documentary film will be released in theatres in Mexico City on April 4th, 2014 according to newspaper Excelsior.
In the past, Rubio directed another documentary film under the title “Gimme The Power” featuring the acclaimed band Molotov. The documentary however, was not just about the band but about Mexican rock music through the years, including the times of repression and persecution in the sixties and seventies.
Before “Gimme The Power”, Olallo Rubio worked with the legendary guitar player Slash and Edward Furlong in the film “This Is Not a Movie”.
