Former Barça coach, Josep “Pep” Guardiola i Sala, will join Fußball-Club Bayern München e.V at the end of the current season, according to confirmed reports by Eurosport and the BBC.
Guardiola is currently on a sabbatical in New York (USA) but speculation have marked the last few months for him, as he had been reportedly linked to many clubs, including Paris Saint-Garmain, Manchester City and Chelsea.
The 41-year-old coach will join Die Roten replacing current boss Jupp Heynckes (67) who will retire at the end of the season.
Pep Guardiola is one of the most successful coaches in the world and we are sure that he can make not just Bayern, but all of German football shine: Karl-Heinz Rummenigge Bayern chief executive.
“Pep” Guardiola played for Barcelona, Brecia Calcio, A.S. Roma and even Dorados (Mexico) as footballer. As manager he has only worked for F.C. Barcelona (including the Segunda División side). With the senior Barça team, Guardiola won the spectacular amount of 14 trophies in 4 years, including two Champions League titles.
More than two English Premier League clubs will be disappointed with this news, however Guardiola’s arrival to the Bundesliga scene might bring balance to the hegemony some top clubs hold in European football, which ultimately should be beneficial for the sport.
