Apple™ co-founder and former C.E.O. has died today after a long struggle against cancer and other health issues.
Steven Paul Jobs took a medical leave of absence earlier this year (January) leaving Tim Cook in charge of all day-to-day operations. Further details about Jobs condition prior to his death are of no interest to this blog, as Jobs family’s privacy is considered to be of the utmost importance.
Jobs passing came just one day after Tim Cook unveiled iPhone 4S at the company’s headquarters in California (U.S.A.).
Steve Jobs launched Apple Computer with Steve Wozniak in April, 1976. According to Los Angeles Times they called it the Apple I and set the price at $666.66 USD because Wozniak liked repeating digits. In the following year came the Apple II, which carried a then-novel keyboard and colour monitor and became the first popular home computer. When the company went public in 1980, the 25-year-old Jobs made an estimated $217 million USD.
The world has lost a brilliant entrepreneur indeed.
