Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, the Brazlian young star is in the centre of a money battle among 5 european clubs.
Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Anzhi Malhachkala (Russia) are willing to pay the £40 million release clause to Brazilian squad Santos, in order to hire the young striker.
We don’t want to sell the player but there is a release clause in his contract that can be paid. Five European clubs have offered to match the clause. The 2014 World Cup is coming and the eyes of the world will be on Brazil. If he stays, and wins the Club World Cup, the Olympics and maybe the World Cup, he will become an idol and can go to Europe having done it all: Luis Ribeiro (Santos President).
However, things might not be that easy for Neymar, as some of the clubs interested in his services might want him to make some adjustments in both, attitude and appearance. According to Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo, they will only sign the Brazilian star if his shows “greater seriousness”, including a demand for him to cut his Mohawk haircut.
Neymar (age 19) has scored 27 goals in 64 appearances with his club Santos.
