According to reports from the BBC and Sky Sports, the German goalkeeper Jens Lehmann might return to the London squad in the next few days.
Polish keepers Łukasz Fabiański and Wojciech Szczęsny are currently injured, as well as Italian Vito Mannone, who is on loan with Hull City, leaving Manuel Almunia as the only fit senior goalkeeper in the team.
If the deal is done in time, Lehmann is likely to be included in the squad for Saturday’s trip to the West Midlands to visit the West Bromwich Albion F.C.
Lehman left the ‘Gunners’ in 2008 after losing his place to Almunia.
The German keeper was born on November 10th, 1969, he is 41 years-old and has played with Schalke 04, A.C. Milan and Borussia Dortmund. He has 61 appearances with his national team. Lehmann set a national team record of not conceding a goal for 681 minutes in a friendly against Switzerland on 26 March 2008.
