Spaniard striker Fernando Torres is leaving Anfield and will play for Chelsea F.C.; the Blues agreed the £50’000,000.00 transfer fee, making Torres’ the most expensive signing made by a British club so far.
According to The Sun, “El Niño” passed a medical at Chelsea’s Cobham training headquarters tonight and is in the process of agreeing personal terms before the mega deal is finalised.
I am very happy with my transfer to Chelsea and I am looking forward very much to helping my new team-mates this season and for many years to come. Having played against Chelsea many times since coming to England, and in some very big games I will never forget, I know there are many great players here and I will work hard to win a place in the team. I hope I can score some important goals for the supporters to enjoy this season. Fernando Torres a.k.a. ‘El Niño’.
The Reds on the other hand, have signed Andy Carroll for a 5 and a half year deal that will keep him at Anfield until 2016. Eurosport reports state that the Club agreed a record transfer fee with Newcastle earlier in the day for the transfer of the England international striker. The deal was subject to the completion of a medical, which the player has now passed. Andy Carroll will wear the No.9 shirt for Liverpool.
Luis Suárez from Ajax is the other Liverpool reinforcement. The Uruguay international also signed a 5 and a half contract in the past days.
