Update: Bane and Selina Kyle to appear on The Dark Knight Rises

According to Yahoo Movies, the title for the next much-anticipated Batman movie has been revealed by filmmaker Christopher Nolan.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’, will be the third and final instalment of this renewed franchise by Legendary Pictures.

The 2008 film ‘The Dark Knight’ ended with Christian Bale’s Batman on the run from Gotham’s police force after they mistakenly believe he’s committed a murder.

It has also been revealed this sequel won’t feature Edward Nygma (a.k.a. ‘The Riddler’), the villain everyone expected in the movie.  ‘The Riddler’ was last impersonated by Jim Carrey in 1995 film ‘Batman Forever’.

It won’t be the Riddler. (…) We’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones. Christopher Nolan.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is expected to be released in 2012.  No official trailers are available at this moment.

Previous film ‘The Dark Knight’ got a gross revenue of $1,001’921,825.00 USD.
