Joakim Soria. There’s tough, then there’s Mexican tough

Mexican right-handed pitcher Joakim Soria is one of the biggest assets for Kansas City Royals’ bullpen.

Last Sunday, Soria achieved his 29th save of the season in the Royals’ victory over the Baltimore Orioles.  However, Soria’s closing skills have not been enough for the team so far and they are at the bottom of central division in American League, far away from the current leaders, the Chicago White Sox.

Joakim Soria was born on May 18th 1984 in Monclova, Coahuila (Mexico).  He’s the Mexican pitcher with most saves in history. Soria has been selected for the All-Star games twice (2008 and 2010).
